    The Use of Engine

    * All the mounting screws of the engine need to be coated with the thread adhesives (Kafuter K243). The engine box body, the box body and the cylinder block sealing surface are designed with no gasket. Evenly, the Kafuter silicone rubber (K383) is applied to the sealing surface. The bearing cylindrical mounting surface is evenly coated with a retaining agent (Loctite 609). When the same mounting surface exceeds 4 screws, the diagonal cross is evenly tightened.

    * Proper vibration damping should be done when the engine is installed on the aircraft. The fixing bolts are made of M10 high-strength bolts. The nuts used should be self-locking locknuts to ensure that the engine is balanced on the mounting surface.

    * The battery should be connected to the circuit after all the lines are connected to avoid injury caused by accidental starting.

    * The AC output from the permanent magnet generator is rectified and regulated, and the output is 28V DC .

    * The ratio of gasoline to lubricating oil is 40:1. Adjust the mixing ratio and high-speed oil needle according to the ambient temperature and engine temperature. When the temperature is high, please increase the proportion of oil and increase the high-speed oil needle opening.

    * It is forbidden to mix and match the lubricating oils of different manufacturers and grades, otherwise it will cause serious clogging of the carburetor; the carburetor needs to be cleaned when replacing the lubricating oil; do not use the fuel that has been mixed for more than 3 weeks. The blended fuel will be precipitated in the winter, so mix it evenly before use.

    * Check the engine and its accessories for any abnormalities before starting the engine.

    * When starting the engine, first close the choke valve, the throttle is placed in the idle position, open the pressure reducing valve, press the start button, the starter motor drives the engine to turn the oil, and the engine will blast when the carburetor enters the oil. Open the choke, the throttle is placed in the idle position,open the pressure reducing valve again, press the start button, and the engine enters the idle state after the engine is started (Please warm the car for 2-5 minutes after the winter start, and warm the car for 1-2 minutes after the start of the summer to check the check. The engine's idle stability and the throttle control of the throttle.

    Electrical System Installation

    * The GTF550 engine adopts an NGH automatic angle ignition device for ignition. The AC power output from the permanent magnet generator is rectified and stabilized to DC 28V through a voltage regulator and charge for the battery.

    * The battery is connected to the circuit after all the lines are connected to avoid the damage caused by accidental start.

    * The diameter of the wire that starts the motor circuit is not less than 6mm². Try to keep the wires connected to each other as short as possible. Do not use wires with too small wire diameter. If the wire is too long or the wire diameter is too small, the voltage will drop too much and the engine will not start.

    * Buy a reliable switch to achieve start and stop.

    * Bundle and fix the wires. Avoid the high-temperature components as much as possible to avoid long-term friction between the wires and the components caused by vibration. All the waterproof butt plugs are inserted.

    * The original engine spark plug (single sheet metal BPMR6A) has been tested. Switching to other types of spark plugs may cause engine failure due to differences in spark plug heat values.

    * When installing the spark plug, ensure that the surface of the spark plug is clean and dry. Hold the spark plug ceramic part, align the tapped hole of the spark plug to the bottom, and then install the spark plug in place with a torque wrench (torque 23N.m).

    Engine Start

    Before starting the engine, check whether the engine, rotating parts and other accessories are abnormal. Turn off the choke, add the throttle to the maximum, turn on the ignition, press the pressure reducing valve, press the start button, and start the motor to drive the engine. After the oil is introduced into the oil, the engine starts and the oil is turned off. The damper is opened, the throttle is reduced to the idle position, the pressure reducing valve is pressed, the start button is pressed, the engine is started to enter the normal working state; after the winter start, the vehicle should be warmed up. 2-3 minutes, after the start of summer, warm the car for 1-2 minutes, check the idle speed stability of the check engine and increase or decrease the throttle response.

    Note: The single boot time does not exceed 8 seconds. After the boot fails, it should be restarted after 30 seconds. If the startup fails several times in the event that the carburetor has been oiled, the engine needs to be inspected.

    Engine Cooling

    A proper cooling system is essential for any engine, and engine cooling requires properly sized air intakes.In order to ensure cooling during engine operation, the air outlet should be five times the size of the cold air intake.

    It is highly recommended to blow cold air directly onto the cylinder when the engine is cooling, and the cold air flows directly through the heat sink of the cylinder, which will provide the best cooling effect for the engine.

    Engine running in

    * The engine is well worn to extend the service life. The NGH engine is factory set to ensure normal engine start.

    * Carburetor oil needle factory state L: 1 circle H: 1.5 laps.

    * Do not fasten the engine to the bracket without the damping device for running-in.

    * It is forbidden to start the engine without a standard propeller installed.

    * The engine running-in should be carried out in an environment that is spacious and ventilated, free of dust and debris, and does not affect the safety of others. The running-in engine must be firmly fixed on the engine frame with the shock absorber, and the engine frame is firmly fixed on the test bench or the aircraft.

    * Engine running-in is recommended under the guidance of an experienced person.

    * Low speed running-in: fuel ratio 40:1

    Start the engine and keep the speed running at 2500-3500 rpm for 30 minutes. During the period, you can stop the cooling several times and check if the engine working condition is normal.

    * Medium speed running-in: fuel ratio 40:1

    Start the engine and keep the speed running at 3500-4500 rpm for 60 minutes. During the period, you can stop the cooling several times and check if the engine working condition is normal.

    * Low, medium and high speed intermittent running-in: fuel ratio 40:1

    Start the engine to warm up for 2 minutes, run at a speed lower than 4000 rpm, increase the throttle by about 10 minutes, and keep the time of the first 5 times of the large throttle within 10 seconds. If the engine acceleration and deceleration is normal, continue at low speed and medium speed. In the state, the full throttle is added once every 5 minutes, and the time of continuous full throttle is gradually extended to 5 minutes. Each full throttle end needs to be reduced to idle speed for 1 minute; the running-in time is 90 minutes, and the carburetor can be used during this period. Fine adjustment is made, and the engine in the normal state after running-in is stable and the acceleration and deceleration are smooth.

    * After the ground is run for more than 3 hours, check that all components are normal and the engine is in good working condition.

    Carburetor adjustment

    0_NGH550.jpg

    * The “L” oil needle on the carburetor is used to adjust the low speed oil supply, the “H” oil needle is used to adjust the high speed oil supply, the idle throttle screw is used to adjust the intake air volume during idle speed, and the L oil needle and idle speed are adjusted. The throttle screw sets the engine's idle speed, so that the engine's minimum idle speed is maintained above 1000 rpm. If the idle speed is set too low, the throttle reduction will occur. When the throttle opening is maximum, adjust the H-needle to set the engine's high speed.

    * When adjusting the L and H oil needles, turn clockwise to reduce oil supply and counterclockwise to increase oil supply. Under normal circumstances: the adjustment range of L oil needle is 1-1.75 circles;

    The adjustment range of the H oil needle is in the range of 1.25-1.75;

    If the adjustment exceeds this range or there is no change during the adjustment process, the oil passage inside the carburetor may be blocked, and the inside of the carburetor needs to be cleaned.

    * The factory setting of the carburetor can make the engine start normally and meet the working conditions in most areas. However, changes in altitude and temperature require fine adjustment of the carburetor to ensure that the engine works at its best.

    * L oil needle rich and poor:

    1. L oil needle rich: The idle speed is unstable, the instantaneous deceleration is easy to extinguish, and the oil supply of the L oil needle should be appropriately reduced.

    2. L oil needle lean oil: Acceleration is not smooth, when the flame is turned off during acceleration, the oil supply amount of the large L oil needle should be properly opened.

    * H oil needle rich and poor:

    1. H oil needle rich: high speed instability, instantaneous deceleration and easy flameout, should properly reduce the oil supply of H oil needle.

    2. H oil needle is poor: the acceleration is not smooth, and the acceleration is easy to extinguish. The oil supply should be properly opened.

    * When the L oil needle and the idle throttle opening are adjusted separately, the idle speed will be changed. The L oil needle should be adjusted with the idle throttle screw.

    * H oil needle lean and rich oil will cause the maximum engine speed to drop. Adjust the H oil needle to maximize the engine speed, and then rotate the H oil needle counterclockwise 0.1-0.2 turns to maintain a slightly rich oil as standard.

    Engine operation and maintenance instructions

    * Use the recommended propeller 32x20. When the propeller is not installed, it is forbidden to start the engine. It is forbidden to use the broken propeller. The mismatch of the propeller will shorten the life of the engine.

    * It is strictly forbidden to stand in the range of 50 meters from the plane of rotation of the propeller.

    * Check the engine's idle stability and acceleration/deceleration continuity after each engine is started and the engine is warmed up.

    * If there is abnormal sound or vibration during the use of the engine, you should immediately drop the parking check and continue to use it after troubleshooting.

    * If the engine suddenly stops in the air, please look for a place to land safely as soon as possible.

    * Keep the engine surface clean to ensure that the engine is well cooled.

    * Avoid using the engine in a dusty environment. Clean the air filter with a compressed air gun every 20 hours.

    * Clean the fuel filter and needle valve in the carburetor according to engine conditions, otherwise the engine will be unstable.

    * Check that all screws are loose after every 20 hours of use, and that the tubing, and wiring are abnormally worn.

    * Check the condition of the spark plug. If you need to replace the spark plug, please use the original accessories. Inappropriate spark plug models may cause engine damage.

    * Airspace should be replaced every 100 hours of use.

    * Regularly check and clean the carbon deposits on the cylinder and piston surface. Apply the high temperature sealant to the end face when assembling the cylinder.

    * The reed valve of the carburetor is a consumable and consumable part. After 30 hours of use, periodically check whether the periphery of the reed valve connected to the carburetor manifold is worn to affect the seal. If it is severely worn, it should be replaced.

    Note: It is necessary to record each repair in the maintenance record.

    Spark plug color to determine whether the oil and gas mixture is burning enough

    Start the engine, full throttle operation for 30 seconds, turn off the flame at high speed, remove the spark plug, observe the center electrode of the spark plug, the center electrode is dark brown and the oily part of the thread is slightly wet, indicating that the oil and gas mixture is fully burned, and the blackening of the center electrode indicates that the engine works. In the rich state, the center electrode whitish indicates that the engine is operating in a lean state.

    Troubleshooting

    * The engine can't start: first check the circuit, make sure the spark plug is in place, remove the spark plug, rotate the engine crankshaft, and watch the spark plug electrode jump between the spark plugs; if there is no flashover, please check the circuit between the magneto and the high voltage package; The problem of the oil road.

    * When removing the spark plug, if the spark plug is full of oil stains, it may be that the carburetor supplies too much oil to cause the tank to be flooded. After the spark plug is wiped clean, put it back and restart it; if the spark plug is dry, there is a problem with the oil supply system, please Check if the oil passage between the fuel tank and the carburetor is blocked and if the inside of the carburetor is clogged.
